Next-generation voice and data network
December 02, 2009
T-Systems to provide all telecommunications services for energy company.

The five-year deal is going to help BP save costs and continue its efficiency program. T-Systems' job will be to migrate BP's global network over to next-generation voice and data communications technology. The Telekom subsidiary will be working on the project together with Siemens Enterprise Communications.
"We're looking forward to collaborating with our new strategic telecommunications services partner. Their experience and know-how will help BP cut back on complexity and lower costs," comments Dana Deasy, BP Group CIO.
Improved telco infrastructure provides competitive advantage
The new deal will make it possible for BP units to flexibly select the communications services they need for their business. The fact that the new infrastructure is less complex will guarantee standardized service quality for the energy company's communication processes.
"We're proud to be BP's partner during this transitional process," says Telekom Board Member and T-Systems CEO Reinhard Clemens. "With the current economic climate it's absolutely necessary for information and communications technology service providers to create competitive advantages for their customers."
